Individual Tax Returns Due Date

January 16, 2017

For individual tax returns, please be aware that we must receive ALL of your tax information by March 15, 2017 to ensure that your individual return may be completed by the April 18, 2017 deadline to file. What does this mean? This means that if we have not received all of your information by March 16, 2017, your return(s) may be put on automatic extension. This includes a signed engagement letter and any information that can have an effect on your return. Both the federal and state (if applicable) return(s) would be put on extension. What does this mean overall? You are allowed to extend your filing date to October 17, 2017. However, no extension is allowed for the payment of any taxes that are owed on your account. This is the taxpayer’s responsibility. You, the taxpayer, are also responsible for any payments that are required to file with the extension.
